SPEEDWATCH MESSAGE FROM Cllr ALAN KINGSFORD
REDUCING SPEED IN THE VILLAGES
There has been a pleasing number of residents making enquiries about joining the Speedwatch team.
A training day is being organised, so now is the time to put your name down to take part.
- The training will be on a weekday as it is run by police personnel
- You cannot do Speedwatch without official police training.
- Training will include handling the speed equipment, Speedwatch law, how certain conditions affect Speedwatch, data management.
- A working roadside Speedwatch team consists of at least 3 people
Following the training we will organise a rota to try to do Speedwatch weekly, including weekends and various times. Speedwatch on the roadside can last from 1 hour – to as long as you like. So your commitment may be an hour a week or couple of hours per fortnight/month.
